We need a new SCS thread since the old one was closed

Does anyone have any current research they would like to share on the effectiveness of SCS on different types of chronic pain? I am particularly interested in SCS and CRPS.

We now have a forum devoted to SCS in a new place here.

Try this:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/fo...ysprune=&f=118

The SCS stickie at RSD was closed when the new subforum at Medications was opened.

taxonomy is all

mrsD -

With all respect, SCS is not a "medical therapy" and it is certainly not a "medication." It is if anything more akin to a surgical procedure.

As such, there is no reason that someone searching under "Medications" would hope to find anything about SCS. I implore NT and DocJohn to reconsider this change.

Mike

the new SCS subforum has become one of our most active, so the majority of members seem to feel it fits in very well just where it is. It was created because a number of members requested it there, plus it has been there for over a year now! The section it is in is for Medications *AND* Treatments.

ps there is nothing stopping RSD members from discussing SCS on your forum as well:confused:

There is also a sticky thread on RSD with the link that will take anyone interested right to the SCS subforum.

Thanks!!

Good suggestion. I would welcome such a discussion on the CRPS forum since Many physicians have attempted to pressure me into a SCS with suggestions that is it very useful in other forms of chronic pain. I would like to see discussion of SCS as it pertains to CRPS specifically.

You can also use the whole forum search tool to locate info on it that might be in other forums -
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/search.php

Oh,
the search tool doesn't work for 3 letter searches or 3 letter abbreviations...:(
So you have to work around that limitation with other search terms somehow.

Ballerina, I am still a bit puzzled as to which old thread re SCS on RSD was closed? I am not seeing a closed thread on this topic other than the notification that I posted in Feb 2010 to help members find the new SCS forum:confused:

But nowhere was it mentioned that members could not discuss SCS right there on the RSD/CRPS forum

seems the mystery might have been solved :) http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...381#post778381
Glad to know it was a case of mistaken identity rather than a missing thread :D

Here again is the link to the SCS and Pain Pumps Subforum
