Sharing my time and other info

I just wanted to let you all know that my husband is recovering well from his back surgery and is also surviving his "jailer". (his words, not mine. :D )

I am not posting here as much as I'd like to but I have some news to share. About two months ago I was invited to take on a new job as moderator of a world wide Sjogren's organization with a very active internet forum. It was quite an honor to be invited to do this. It is a lot of responsibility and involves lots of volunteer time.

When the invitation was issued, my husband and I discussed it. Aside from the honor of being asked, we discussed all the hours I'd have to spend moderating this forum. I decided that I really had no better way to spend my spare time than helping others with this disabling disease. The neurological complications of Sjogren's Syndrome are not well known and it has had profound effects on my life and the lives of so many others. So I wanted to let you know that I'd be checking in and sharing any new knowledge I find with all of you, but it will be not as often as I was.

Stay well and thanks for all your support. I'm not gone, just busy with something more worthwhile than all my aches and pains .

wow...

You'll make a great moderator! I think it is a wonderful opportunity!

Just remember, there are sometimes some very strange troublemakers on the
net, and being a "policewoman" now, you will get to deal with THEM!
So I hope that aspect does not "get you down".

I am also relieved that your hubby is doing well.

Best wishes!:)

Credit is being given where...

credit is due!

I, for one, will miss your steady clear headed presence even when in great pain. You have been an inspiration to me to try and be the same.

Wow!!

Thanks Guys, for all the good wishes.

Mrs. D, so far I've not had any of the issues you mention, but I know they exist. The forum is one of the nicest groups of people. I think everyone is so grateful to find a place to get some help. I'll stay alert to the situation. I have two other moderators to help if it gets too nasty.

I got out this morning and raked up a huge pile of leaves with my moon boot on. It seems the other day I couldn't resist the garden center and bought 30 new bedding plants. It just stirred my soul, all the pretty color. Then when I got home it dawned on me...hubby is not able to do any yard work and this idiot  is wearing a moon boot cast on one leg.

But you will be pleased to know that I planted all 30 lovely petunias and coleus. Had to do it sitting in a lawn chair and getting up and moving it frequently, but I did it. :D

So this Spring, our little woody house site will have some beautiful color.

Thanks again all you folks. You are the best!!

You're great Billye. I'm glad that others discovered that, and that you've taken on this responsibility. You've done a lot of good here, and will do the same in your new position. We'll look forward to your posts and updates.

The choice was logical and deserved.

And, Billye, I'm sure you find that having this responsibility willl be helpful to you, as well. When others depend on you for clearheadedness and information, you have less time to worry about your own mood that day. it's great for keeping you motivated, focused, and in prespective.
