Toxic neuropathie from mecury-contaning tooth amalgans
I havent read anything on this forum about toxic neuropathies from mercury-contaning tooth amalgans
I came across this website and i am wandering if its possible to get a small fiber neuropathie from mercuray-containing eooth amalgans http://www.smallfiberneuropathy.net/...ooth-amalgams/ |
This is such a contentious subject.
I've seen many accounts of people who improve when their mercury based fillings are removed. But the controversy still exists with arguments on both sides. I think you can start, by getting heavy metal testing to see if you have a mercury problem. Here is a sample thread from our dental forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...hlight=mercury You can search "mercury" there and find the other threads, and/or ask your question in a new post. |
dentist removed 25 year old amalgam fillings
Mrs. D.,
During the last four weeks my dentist replaced a mouthful of old and cracked amalgam fillings and replaced them with the the new white stuff. The old fillings needed to come out. In the past I have had all over body paresethesia due to certain med reactions like anti-depressants that seems to mostly stop when I stop those medications. For the past week (every day) i have been having paresthesia all over my body. Can the paresthesia be related to the mercury being released during the removal process? M. |
Yes, I think it can. You should get testing to see.
Are you still on that high dose verapamil? It affects calcium metabolism which can also cause paresthesias. How is your Vit D doing...I've lost track of what you are doing with that. In that link I put up in this thread are two supplements mentioned that may help with a mercury load. Here our holistic MDs give oral chelation when people have mercury fillings removed. |
Mari,
If they did not take precaution when removing the old fillings, then yes, it can be the cause. Most dentist who specialize in mercury removal have specific procedures set up to minimize the mercury from getting into your system. And most will only remove one amalgam filling per month as a precaution. So if you had multiple ones removed in one month, then it can be overloading you system. Marlene |
Thank you Mrs. D. and Marlene. I am going to make an appt with my internist and check with the above link. M. |
Do you think that my internist and my insurance will pay for
~ mercury testing? ~ calcium testing? I had the Vit D checked 18 months ago and having been supplementing with D3. It is time for another D test. M. |
Insurance should pay for both, most good ones do.
This is a long list of some of the symptoms of mercury toxicity. I always read this link, as I think the story with before and after photos is very revealing: http://www.mercurypoisoned.com/symptoms.html Like many medical problems, lots of things get reported on this type of list. (it is rather like the lists for Lyme disease symptoms). |
