Away for a while
I thank you for my birthday notice. I was so impressed as it had been a long while due to illness, move, and so forth and I had forgotten. I have been made uncomfortable since 27 years of age and every symptom comes back to "neuro". I am doing much better now at 67 years of age, but take a lot of meds. I have had a diagnosis of neuropathy which explains the pains, but the symptoms so varied that deep down I feel it is a diagnosis not made yet or possibly not known. I don't know why a full diagnosis is so important but it is. Possibly from having been called crazy for so many years. I am glad to be back and will try to find the past correspondence. If not will start over. Thank you for this forum.

Welcome back!
I agree that having a full, definite, can't-take-it-back diagnosis is almost something tangible you can cling to, a perverse comfort in a way. Just before my diagnosis, I had a total meltdown, wailing to my poor husband "There is something REAL wrong with me, and they HAVE to find out what it is, because if they DON't, then it means I've lost my MIIIIIIIINNNNNDDDDD! WAAAAAHHHHH!" |
A Late Thank You.

I am glad to have this forum to rely on should things get worse. I take neurotin which helps with the pain. Also steriod shots in the severe pain areas have been good to relieve the severe pain . I try to keep them at a minimum to have them to fall back on for a long while. Thank you for your reply and I will try to get on the forum more often. I am doing better with the constant fatigue which allows me to help my daughter more. I am 69 yrs old and have had strange and untreatable symptoms since 27years of age. |
