moods are thoughts
Hi,
Have you ever thought about how thoughts can change our moods. How do these viscous cycles start?the answer is judgemnt(fear and anger)=tenseness=symptoms. We can change our thoughts by using our will. It's a choice how we choose to interpret daily trivialities. We can excuse the outerenviroment and take a postive view of life's trivialities. The way I do it is when things don't do right for me,I laught at my dearself and excuse for my own mental health. We will always have to deal with our intial response but through practicing muscle control and changing our thoughts we can control the reaction. With no regretable reaction we avoid the working up process which brings on symptoms. We can practice muscle control with daily duties like eating properly at a slower speed or talking slower than we normaly and paying . Basicly any daily duty that requires action. When we gain control over our muscles we can control impulses much easier. There is no hopeless case in nervous health. We might feel helpless at times but that is before we acquire the innersmile. best to you all, John |
That might apply for healthy people...
Im not sure I can control myself all the time when I take a bunch of medicines and my brain lacks some substances you know.... :o But yeah, we try, we try dont we ? |
which came first?
the mood or the thought? |
Exactly...
I think both things happen... Oh, phylosophy... |

INDEED!!! some would hold that the thoughts and beliefs give rise to judgements and more beliefs, which may not even be true, but in the throes of these we hurtle towards negative emotions. Bizi, when one says we can "choose to be happy" or "choose how we feel" that suggests that thoughts guide emotions. of course, there are other perspectives to the emotional world than that of a strict behaviorist... :D but brain chemicals and their relative balance is a subtle and very individually varied thing. and these chemicals directly produce heightened emotional states which in turn can favor a change in self-esteem, self-perception, perception of others, thought content, and even significantly alter thought form (psychotic feature). as MaJo was saying, "normal" people who have a more "typical" chemical arrangement in their head may have, as a result, a much narrower emotional range... easier to live with instead of throttled by, and less likely to affect thought processes. ~ waves ~ |
