New probable drug treatment could aid in remyelination in multiple sclerosis (Topix)
Researchers at the University of California, here in the States, and the University of Cambridge in the U.K., combined research to discover a new molecule they've termed XAV939 that they believe could lead to a new drug treatment that will repair damaged myelin.

I hate to be so skeptical but I'd like to see some of these wonderful "missing link" treatments come to fruition. There's alot of talk but that's about all I've seen so far when it comes to a treatment that could halt or reverse the demyelation process.

So we've found a way to "re-mylentate" a rat in a lab? :p Yahoooos!! More $$$ for the pharma, but no cure!

Sometimes I think that Big Pharma pays someone to make up these claims to keep us "hopeful" and to keep the $$$ rolling in for research. :mad:
