Plans for the forth?

I have no energy, really tired need to get my thyroid med filled. But, there is a local Legion picnic were I am on the auxiliary, the boys are son's of legion, my Dad was a WW II vet, so we will go there, skip the community parade though.

Some fireworks for the kids and we have had rain so not an issue here. About a 5" above normal this summer from the rain storms coming from the midwest.

It will be nice not to have to make an entire cookout, but I would rather be chillin in my recliner. I hope we have some fun being with the group.

More thunder now, distant. I wonder if it will come this way or we can eat on the deck?

Hi,

Happy Fourth of July!

We had planned to do something tonight. The cloudy skies do not look conducive to an outside activity. We might stay home inside instead.

we celebrated with a cook out at our friends a few hours a way last night. They had fireworks which was fun and scarey at the same time....makes me nervous...worried that something will go wrong and someone will lose a finger etc....not crazy about fireworks...but we had fun and no one was hurt thank goodness....take that back their 12 year old got her finger burnt alittle from a sparkler. tomorrow going down town for the symphonys celebration out side and they light fireworks at the end of the performance so that will be nice.

Light fireworks...bonfire...typical backyard partying

First welcome Toma Su, hoping I spelled right.

Next I've spent the weekend, first in Kokomo listening to fireworks all weekend. And we ate out on Saturday for Derrick's birthday. And had
Ice Cream Cake. Then on Sunday we had a great church program, from
the kids of VBS, and then pizza hut for lunch. And my sister Dee brought
cook-out food to my mom's for about 13 of us. And that was so nice
of her.

Then there was the fact that my sister Karla and her husband Jim had
gotten a call Saturday night just as they arrived with the Ice Cream
cake from their freezer. Because my mom's has gone on the blinks.

And they had to kind of rush out, taking some with them. Because his
dad was in-coherent, running a fever. And this man that never wants to
see a doctor, or go to ER was willing to go. He was admitted, with a fever
and infection, that was diagnosed after about 6 hours as a UTI. Wow, talk
about a wake up call, it reminded me of the one I had in January, and
I wont wait that long again.

He was still in the hospital today, trying to leave. So they kept having to go make him stay. My sister also closed on her first house. And is getting ready to move. I wanted to go help, but instead helped by keeping her
16 year old foster son.

Who was sad today, because his mother's birthday was today. And he couldn't go see her. But he got to call her.

SO now am waiting in INdy, after more fireworks for the art school for Derrick to start tomorrow.Donna:grouphug:

Well I went out despite feeling shitty. Feeling pretty good lit off some herb and BBQ and bonfire by the river

Hello to Tomo Su, :Wave-Hello:

Yikes our North East Summer is 2/3 over!

We had a nice day. I should have pulled rank and had the separate family cook out Sunday, and the Picnic at the Legion as the main event last night with fire works at home later.

There was a ton of food, we were under cover, gentle breeze. Earlier were burgers, dogs, hot sausage and peppers. Then there was BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, tons of main dishes that were brought by the ladies. Stuffed cabbage (pigs in the blanket) Poor mans pirogi's (lasagna noodles and cheese) many salads, dipps, fruit trays, Sour Kraught for the dogs,

The amount of deserts homemade UGH!!!!! grandson loved the plastic pail labeled dirt. Chocolate cake, icing mixed with gummy worms that you dig your portion. candy tray,
After a double order of clams, and ear of corn; I got home and ds who left early made more corn, burgers, dogs and salads.

So now we are going to finish off the uncooked left overs. Add a watermelon to cut.
Next year knowing how all out and zero cost, (members) I will like to do the cookout at home the weekend before. You could not beat it. Oh how nice not to cook!!! especially a family event.

Bizi,
I am with you on the fireworks. They are so nice to see, but when family and friends are lighting them, very scary. I was a nervous wreck. I had to explain to them, working on the police and ambulance, I saw the devastating effects that could happen.

Everyone safe, and after a hot one today, lots to eat....

Happy Fifth!
Looks like we all made it to the day after the holiday!

Welcome, Tomo Tsu. Nice of you to drop in <grin>. Hope to see you again.

I spent the holiday in FL, where it thundered & rained a lot amid lightning strikes. It was HOT HOT HOT.
