Question for mrsd re: superfood supplements

hello mrsD,

I did some research on your posts to see what you thought of the food supplements such as Greens Plus. (Got lost in the archives more or less trying to find an answer).

I don't have much experience with all the green supplements offered.

With all that chlorophyll you'd get some magnesium out of them.

I don't think they are harmful, if you choose a company with a GMP guidelines...but with all the business with the sprouts coming out now...being contaminated...I wonder if those pathogens could be spread in a supplement too.

The sprout thing I've followed has included France, Idaho, and Egypt as sources of dry seed...to be used in the sprouting.
Once wet, the organisms wake up and infect you.

I'd be careful with blue green algae right now too, because new studies have found a substance in them that is toxic to the brain:

I tend to not use the "green's" mixes, since they tend to be expensive and I need that money for other things I feel are more important for me. So I cannot say from personal experience if they are effective or safe (these days).

Thanks! I used Greens Plus yrs ago during chemo, it was ok'd at the time by the doc, but I that they are expensive. I really do not think I need all the herbals. Not sure they help the nerve cells repair.

I think using acetyl carnitine and CoQ-10 and R lipoic will specifically target the damaged mitochondria that happens when toxic drugs are used. All three of these are expensive IMO.

The R-lipoic is running me $7.00 a month, the carnitine a bit less but I only take a low dose, and you would need at least 2 grams a day, and CoQ-10 with good absorption 300mg a day is pretty expensive too.

You could be spending $50/month or more for these 3.

I picked those up 3 days ago after reading the info you provided and also from info given to me by a health care professional I know. The CoQ-10 is the breaker. I should start looking for the 2 for 1 sales. Greens Plus runs about $40 per bottle which lasts 1 month.
