ssc implant

I have had my ssc implant for 2 mths. Boston Mass. It worked great for about 4 wks. Suddenly one night laid down to sleep and strong stimulation to my rt breast, so unbareable had to turn it off. Next day called my ssc rep. she had me go to Dr office checked for possible lead migration I have 2 leads 1 of them had migrated. She disconnected the migrated lead via computer and re programed the other lead. 2 wks after that the same thing. This time I did not go in for re programing. This only happens when I lay down, although I really need the scs real bad at night or I will wake up in very bad pain, or I have to take my pain meds. I kept this lead connected but turn it off at night and take pain meds. I wanted so bad to get off those pain meds but not now. The Dr did tell me if the 2 lead migrated she would have to refer me to a neurosurgen, she would not re-adjust my leads for fear the migration would occur again. The are going to surgicallly implant a paddle w/ the leads so they will not migrate. Please.....Please.... someone do you know what this type of procedure consist of ? How long will I need to re-cooperate ?

Hello and Welcome!

Hello Marlo and WELCOME to NeuroTalk!

I see that Alffe has give you the link to our SCS Forum.:)

I think you will find someone, maybe more than one, that has been through the revision you are speaking of.... There are quite a few people who have had the SCS who share graciously the ups and downs of having their implant.

Please feel free to roam around and join in anywhere.

I look forward to seeing you around the board.
:)
Abbie
