Okay, weird thing happened !
I am not sure exact words that were said to Derrick. But the more that I thought about it the more I knew I had to say something.
The one that we have used for many years Probably over 10 years. The girl, probably pharmacist. Said to him. Is your mother with you. He Said, She is in the Van. I'd sent him in before by himself when i was tired. She said to him that. They had new owner's and weren't really supposed to give prescriptions to " People with Disabilities anymore" And something to the degree that she was going to have to call hh is doctor before next month to make sure it was okay for him to pick up his meds. Gosh, I find it very odd, If People with Disabilites can't pick up their medicines. Then who does she think is going to pick up most of what they sell. There is no such policy. I went in andldn' talked to the pharmacist that I love. She couldn't believe someone had said that. And of course I didnt' think to ask questions about the person. Chances a Administrator from main offices will call me. But sure couldn't let that stand. This is a big chain in our area. Krogers. Donna She cou |

I know it was not funny at the time, but I appreciate this because it made me laugh -- who do they think buys their meds?? Ask Kroegers to write a letter of apology to your son. They are b**stards. M. |

Its okay I was finding it funny too the day I went back. I really was offended the day my son got this news. And I know it didn't faze him, so its really kind of okay. And I know that one day when we are in there and COnnie the main pharmacist is in there. She will apologize to him without being asked. And tell him that it was a mistake for the girl to tell him that. For lack of other words. Because I couldn't repeat the exact words, because she was trying to use the developmentally delayed phrase, but she didnt'. Donna:grouphug: |
As far as I ran into, unless the doctor calls the pharmacy and restricts the protocol of whom can pick up a prescription, there are no legal or ethical reasons a Pharmacy could restrict a pick up.
If they are concerned of a suicidal purpose for some reason (nothing I can relate) perhaps they may call the doctor and ask if their instincts are that the patient is at risk and have a concern. But neither of these scenarios fit Derrick. I did have doctors restrict my dd picking up her meds, but it was to take away the potential of "accidental OD." which ultimately, it was the pharmaceutical cause not dd. |

After talking to Derrick, it seems it was the one that the main pharmacist thought. But she was trying to get someone who started that day, in trouble it seems. I will be making sure I return later this week to let my friend know what Derrick said. I don't like what I heard even more. Donna:grouphug: |
