the vibration and pin prick test doc does.

Hi

Just wondering if any of you guys had failed this test. where they use the tuning vibration device or use a pin to check for sensation.

if all my emg/ncv and skin biopsy is normal then what in the world is causing such extreme symptoms. all over the body.
all i have are clues so i am going complete gluten free, vitamins, spice free.

dosent make sense. i have seen people with such pain that have actual abnormall results.
can one have something circulating causing same pain but not damage to the nerves.
the razor sharp pain all over is just taking my life!! i dont no why its all over. face, inside mouth, scalp, all over.

there are worsening of sx now. as razor blades are slasing me so much more and my finger tips are going numb off and on.

i dont know who to turn too. i am just lost. sensory plus cramps and spasms.

Tulips, Have you been checked for infection of some sort???? That could be circulating in your blood system? Danielle

Tulips 07-11-2011 12:30 PM

Hmmm I don't know exactly how they check
That? Any idea.

They have checked parvo virus negative
Recently igg to EBV was positive

Tulips, I am sorry you are having such pain, I can't imagine. How about some kind of poisoning? Were you under a great deal of stress when this started? This does sound unusual for neuropathy, but not un-heard-of. If mainstream medical doctors do not find you some relief soon, you might try some alternative treatments like meditation, guided imagery, accupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Andrew Weil has some good CDs on guided imagery. You might try at your library if you don't want to buy them.

I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I can relate a lot though I have dx of PN and RSD it took a long time and also still have a lot of unknown of why I have certain symptoms and also the why behind the RSD and PN is unknown. I think I recall saying to you that my 1st NC did not show PN but then 2nd did. Though they don't feel that is what causes my pain. The pain is from the RSD
I am sorry can you remind me have you had an injury, accident, anything in the past that at the time you may have not thought of but looking back could be a connection such as illness etc?
Hang in there

The IgG response to Epstein Barr Virus

--is positive in almost everyone beyond the age of 30; all it indicates is that one has been infected with this omnipresent virus at some point in the past.

There are patterns of antibody occurrence with EBV that might indicate a reactivation or a more recent infection; these are more likely to be correlated with symptoms:

Tulip, how long have you had all of these symptoms from the beginning? If it has been a long time, you would think that you fail the tests. So strange. Also, I wanted to share with you that there is a great Face Book support groups named Neuropathy Friends. We can chat and help also:) Danielle
