Newbe-Head Injury and Vision Problems

Hi all, I'm new here, I had a head injury 11 weeks ago, steel gates 14*12 foot hit me in the top of the head within a half hour I was like someone drunk and vomiting, went to the hospital they said I had concussion sent me home, a few days later developed groggy vision in left eye with no peripheral vision and eye pressure, eye goes cod at night and get's very blood shot, had mri after four weeks and it was normal, had eye scan and it's normal, vision test showed no peripheral vision in left eye and 25% decrease in straight on vision but dr dont know what it is, I still have some swelling to my forehead/jaw I am at my wits end, dont know when and if it will ever go away and what's causing it, has anyone here had anything similar that may shine a light on this or any suggestions of what to do next.

Thanks:)

Welcome to NeuroTalk. Sorry for your injury. Hope we can help.

It is difficult to understand what all of your current symptoms are. The swelling in your forehead/jaw is obvious but what of the other symptoms do you still have?

How did you jaw get effected by a blow to the top of your head?

Have you had any serious diagnostics done on your neck?

Thanks for your reply.I have'nt had any diagnostics to my neck, am waiting for physiotherapy, I banged the top of my head as I was bent and the gate hit the top of my head at force and knocked me to the ground, my teeth banged with the force and my left side of my face immediately started hurting, I think it was the force it hit me that caused my left side to hurt, the next day my left shoulder, arm and neck were swollen and still are almost 11 weeks later, the dr said I had torn muscles, I still have a large bump on my forehead and my jaw bone is swollen, I had to have a tooth pulled out a week later as it was loose from the bang, mri and eye scan have been clear but have no peripheral vision in eye, eye is sore and feels strained and don't know when it will get better and was hoping someone here would have similar and could shed some light on it

If part of your visual field is missing, that can indicate brain injury. My optometrist said mapping which part of the field is gone can actually tell which part of the brain is injured. Not sure if vision therapy would help with that, but at least having a visual field evaluation by an optometrist could provide a good starting point for you.
