Hcg
I've seen lots of billboards for the HCG Diet in my area.
Human Chorionic Growth Hormone. (Not sure of the spelling) It was mentioned on the Dr. Oz show perhaps a good month ago. You can use injections or drops. Then one eats a 500 calorie diet for awhile. Afterwards, a no carb diet. Anyone do this or know someone who did? Thoughts? |
It's just my opinion but a 500 calorie diet would prompt weight loss in anyone. And then no carbs after that? I don't think you'd need the HCG in order for this diet to work. It's not a realistic way to eat. The weight will come off quickly but it would be very hard to maintain that lifestyle.

I've been reading about the diet and the concpept is that it is designed to retrain your body to burning layers of fat that are nor normally burned.
Once you do the protocol and follow the mainenance plan, you should not have abnormal problems with gaining weight in the future. The maintenance is no carb, but the life time program is low carb and they say you can eat normal amounts of food without regaining the weight. Hard to say...but it sounds really interesting. Many are doing it now and I suspect in a year or two, we'll know much more. |
i don't know of this specific regimen, however, a long time ago when i was younger i was on 500 cal/day. i became hypotensive (low BP) and was passing out.
i agree that i don't this diet is safe. your body needs some carbs to run on. no carbs can be dangerous. you can exercise and take in 1000 cal and lose wt. i would consult your dr about this. cut anything white including sugar from your diet. good luck. |
HCG is manufactured from PLACENTA by the way.
