Burning while urinating(But gone after drinking water)

Hi,

I am very much new to this site so not sure whether I have posted the thread in right place or not the problem which I am been through from last 6-7 months is that I am having burning while urinating and I am sick of it .
I have been to my doctor alot times he has given me some sachets to drink and some antibiotics but the problem never gone then he refereed me to the urologist and even he was having no clue he said everything is fine just drink water and it has been more than 4 months I am drinking 2-2.5 ltr water a day and strange think is that after drinking water I am feeling ok no burning while urinating but as soon I don't drink enough water the problem persist and even when I eat spicy food the burning occurs and even I would like to mention I have done all my sexual test and all are negative.

Any suggestions will be appreciated

burning

I know how frustrating it is to run to the dr. over and over with burning and they don't find any infection..been there, done that! I have a disorder called interstitial cystitis which is basically an inflammation of the bladder and urinary tract. I don't think you have enough symptoms for that diagnosis, you have to have bladder pain, but you do have SOME of them and might be having some of the same issues. They don't know what causes it, maybe an autoimmune disorder or something in our processed food, no one knows.

I have bladder pain and burning, can be together or separate. Getting relief from drinking a lot of water and having irritation from certain foods are typical symptoms of this. I have problems if I overdo anything with too much caffeine but spicey things bother me too. Orange juice etc. are also offenders, I can't drink much oj unless I get the kind with calcium which seems to buffer the acid a little.

There really aren't any very good treatments for this. I respond to antibiotics because I tend to get lesions and blister-like eruptions but as soon as I'm off the drugs it all comes back anyway. What has actually helped me the most is I got one of those 'Pur' water filters you put on your faucet because my sister was complaining about chlorine taste in her coffee. It doesn't seem to make any sense, but even though I got relief from drinking cholorinated water it must have been irritating too, The filter really worked better than anything dr. has done. I don't drink nearly as much water and can eat more chocolate, etc.

There is also something called neurogenic bladder that they treat with antidepressants. It doesn't mean its all in your head, just that the pain comes from problems with the nerves instead of disease. I think that can cause burning too.

You can find info online about both of these. Try to be aware of anything you eat that sounds like it would irritate inflamed tissues and if you can afford it try a faucet filter, if nothing else your coffee will taste better. I assume they checked for a yeast infection, those will really make you burn. I was also wondering if you'd changed laundry soap, some of them can be irritating if you use too much. Have you asked an ob/gyn about irritation?

I hope I've given you some ideas on where to look for relief, there may not be a simple fix. You really are drinking a lot of water and I hope you can find some solutions.

Highly acidic urine may burn. Making the urine more alkaline may help. This is why diluting it works too.

Try taking some sodium bicarb and see if that helps.

This article explain pH of urine.

TriSalts:
This one is OTC:

Use carefully, since this contains potassium. If you have any heart condition or use Aldactone or Dyazide, you should not use this product. Only use if you have normal kidney functions.

You can try finding some pH papers and test your urine to see if it is acidic.

The above link shows what they look like. Some pharmacies will order them for you.

There are some health conditions that cause burning urination...most of them are serious and would show up in blood work at the doctors.
One of them is neutropenia -- low white cells. Have you given a urine specimen at the doctor's?

Since you mention some foods causing irritation, it made me think of the Blood Type diet books.

Like Eat right for Your Blood type by Dr. Peter D'Adamo
The book is in libraries & usually can be found in thrift stores too.

I found foods to avoid and many were ones that were giving me tummy troubles. Also suggested foods that are good for your type.

I don't fully follow the plan, maybe I should LOL.
It does seem oddly coincidental that the bad foods listed for my type are the ones that give me some problems.

Maybe this sort of thing will be helpful for you.

dehydration can cause your pee to be highly concentrated, and much more acidic, when you are peeing. Did you get tested for UTIs?
