Hello

Hello, I am thankful to find people that can understand what I am going through. I had spinal surgery 5 years ago, at the age of 21. I had 4 protruding disks in my left siatic nerve. I've been having back pain since the surgery, but now I have severe nerve pain. I am currently seeing doctors to find out what the next move is, which have been told a fusion. I am nervous to be going through this again. Would love to get some feed back from people that understand or have had the same problems. :)

Welcome to NT!

I am sorry for the pain you are experiencing. I have had fusion surgery, but only two discs. It was very successful for me. I hope you will have a positive experience and I wish you the best.

Welcome!

I'm glad you found this place! You've got the link to one forum; & if you use the Search tab above, just to the right on the blue bar near the top, you'll no doubt find other forums of related interest.

Fusion is a scary-sounding option, but I do have one friend for whom it worked.

I had major pain in my left sciatic nerve 2 yrs ago & chose acupuncture. I had 3 treatments a wk for a month, then 1 a wk, 1 alternate wks, now 1ce a month. No recurrence of any pain. But I'm a big believer in acupuncture, have used it for many things over 35 yrs (not always successful). For this, :D.

Hang out on the forums, ask questions, let us know how things are going.
