Hi ~ Sometimes these are referred to as "Hemangioma" which are benign tumors of blood vessels that typically occur as purplish/reddish elevated areas of skin. They are vascular related.

I've talk to many people who have these in the spine --- and usually their doctors tell them that they will just "watch" the tumor to see if it grows, etc. If this continues to bleed -- and if the bleeding is significant --- I would imagine that they would want to do something about it. Usually they don't cause a lot of trouble -- but make sure your doc keeps an "eye" on it. ;)

Best of luck & God bless. Hugs, Lee
