Linen Butt
I'm a healthy weight (on the lower end of the BMI for my height) and I have great arms/abs (I do 80 crunches a night!) Been working on toning the upper body for 3 years now diligently, but the waist down, outside of walking, seems to have fallen far behind the rest.
So I have what I refer to as "Linen Butt". I don't know if this is an actual term (lol).. but I compare my butt to folded linen (sheets), as the skin folds (loose skin) when I bend my legs back or stand straight. You know what I mean right? So I have all this loose skin in the butt/back of the thighs area. I do squats nightly, and the walking.. but I'm wondering what exercises I may incorporate to tone this particular area? Thanks for your suggestions in advance! :grouphug: (by the way, I don't own a car, or a gym membership, I exercise via walking or on my balance ball/with hand weights in my living room in my apartment, so apartment exercises would be optimal if possible!). |
congratulations on your weight loss and it sounds like your exercising is paying off. Lunges really work out the butt, I personally can't do them. I don't have a good balance. really seprate your foot back so there is a great distance between you back leg and your front leg then bring your knee down to the floor. you can use a stick to help balance yourself. google lunges videos I am sure they are out there.
good luck! I have gained half of my weight back so I need to get back to the gym and start dieting again. bizi |
Thank you bizi, and good luck with back to the gym and the diet. As you likely know, both good eating and exercise can be very addictive. In a good way!
