surgery

I have a surgery date to have my "extra rib" and my first rib removed. August 17th. I am a bit scared of the pain but happy it is going to happen soon.

The extra c rib is usually one of the better reasons to have a TOS surgery for.

Be sure to have an experienced surgeon, and be cautious during the recovery time to avoid accidents, falls, and any quick grabbing /catching reflex actions.

Are your symptoms more nerve or blood flow related?

Gladys64:

Some surgeons will not remove the first rib when the issue is the c-rib. Others remove it just to remove it. I'd make sure the first rib absolutely needs to be removed with multiple opinions.

Best of luck to you-
Anne

I hear ya, gladys. I'm having a rib resection/scalenectomy soon. I'm also nervous but excited to be on the road to recovery! Good luck to you.
