TOS Doctor in Sydney, Australia???

Hi there,

Does anyone know of a good TOS doctor in Sydney? I see my regular GP who knows very little about TOS and a physio who has me doing pool exercises. My physio wanted me to start a gym program??? Could you imagine the pain of it? So I am aware he doesnt really understand the pain of TOS. The only meds im on are panadeine forte and other pain meds.

I have extra cervical ribs and disc / nerve problems at C5/6. I dont know if I should be on some other meds. I dont receive much support and my Dr just nods his head and agrees with everything I say to him.

I am on Workers comp for a fall at work which resulted in the C5/6 probs.

Thanks,
Ozzy14

hi Ozzy,
There are only a few members with TOS in Australia.

it is the home of the Bowen work method - maybe a expert practitioner could give some relief and posssibly recommemd a good doc for you.

the posture connection is very important - esp with the ext c ribs - but if pain is high and continuous - a eval by a surgeon might be a good idea.

sometimes the PT places can give the best suggestions for docs - as they know who dx for certain conditions?
that might be a way to find a good one.
are you c ribs large or a full set?

i guess some can be just small nubs and some can be complete set.

Thanks Jo. The extra ribs are a small set (from xray they look about as long as a match stick).
