Hope he took out the battery and dried it out. Don't use it or put the battery back until it's really, really dry. Don't dry it with a hair dryer. Shake it and let it dry totally before trying it again.

Battery is the main problem. Poor chance of it working again if it's been drenched. Fifty/fifty maybe.

Thanks Lara...he took the sim? thing out, dried it off and put it into another cell phone...it works. But his favorite phone, the one that took a hot bath, still has visible water in the "window"...it is unaccesable? and I bet it never works again. ok, no hair dryer...warm oven??

I've heard that putting the wet phone (without the battery) into a baggie filled with dry rice helps. I guess it absorbs the liquid quickly. Might not work but doesn't sound like it could do anymore damage beyond the water.

I'd try a lot of those other tips you've been given before putting it in an oven. lol

Then again I put my wheat heat pack in an oven once as I didn't use microwaves. Bad idea! :D

Sunlight might help if you have some. e.g. on an inside window ledge by the glass where the heat can radiate.

still snuggled in the rice...haven't looked at it yet. lol on the micro.

I hope it makes a full recovery, Alffe! :D
