flu like symptoms from the shots?
Okay, I have been injecting betaseron since 2002. I never have to take a tylenol or anything and have never gotten the "flu" type feeling after taking a shot.
The other night after a shot I went to bed and woke at 4 a.m. with the chills, terrible headache, achey body and just felt terrible til mid morning.......then I was fine. Now I've experienced this a couple times before, but can't remember if it was after a shot or not. I haven't come down with anything like a cold or infection. My question: Anyone else experience this "flu" type feeling after a shot after being on it for a long time? Its was my understanding that these were early side effects of the drug.....I'm wondering if this is possibly what I experienced? |
viseeu just went thru the same thing. perhaps she will chime in.

10 1/2 years on it... flu like symptoms occurred about 50% or the time--had them in the beginning and they never went away.

Perhaps they started compounding the medication differently?
May want to ask the company of any changes in the medication. Wasn't it Copaxone a couple years back that went from a beat 'base' to corn 'base' formula, and thus several had unexpected reactions? If it's something you aren't used to experiencing, I'd ask your neuro, but also ask the drug company/pharmacy or your contact for the drug if anything's changed in how they're compounding it. |
Most likely it is just the variables of anything in our lives. Betaseron is not compounded, it is a Biologic so it is grown. Probably just one of those things, if it continues then talk to your Neuro.
