changes,

It sounds like you may be suffering from absence seizures. These are seizures where one just stops interacting with their world and blanks out. They usually last a few seconds.

You ought to keep a journal of these episodes. Get an appointment with a neuro and tell him about these episodes. He should also give you a full neuro exam .

JoeT,

Some with PCS have a lack of physical awareness. It can go along with a clumsiness. I routinely get cuts and scrapes without knowing it. It is just the brain not noticing and remembering the injury stimuli.

Short and Immediate term memory dysfunction is a very common PCS symptom. Please do not turn these issues back on yourself. You are not to blame. Your injury is. Your injury is not you. Try to adopt a "blame it on the brain injury" concept. It makes life much easier to handle.

btw, You may notice the injury at the exact time of the injury. But, you brain does not store the memory of that incident so later you do not remember it. Combine that memory problem with a bit of PCS clumsiness and it seems like you are losing it. But you aren't.

Slowly, your brain will get better. Don't burn any bridges. Learning to live and learn through the recovery process can make you a better person. becoming more patient with yourself and others can cause a big personal improvement.

Hold your head up.

My best to you.
