Need to replace removed amalgam before placing crown?

Hi, I have a temp crown, and had some amalgam removed before it was placed. The temp cement bothered my tooth/nerve then and I still can't chew on that side. Just wondering if something should be placed to seal the tooth where the amalgam was before the permanent crown goes on?

thanks

Hi ~ My doc always has "repaired" the tooth before putting the permanent crown on.

You might want them to take X-rays -- you could have an abcess. You sure wouldn't want the permanent crown on with an abcess!!

Best of luck -- I hope the discomfort ends soon. Hugs, Lee
