"No serious injuries"
That always sticks in my mind when I hear that or "minor injuries" on a news report. Of course, it's GOOD news when there are no serious or life-threatening injuries, but I always think about those people and wonder how "minor" their injuries are to them?
If my granddaughter had broken a wrist or leg this spring, she couldn't have worked this summer, and she wouldn't be able to go back to school. Back in the day, my best friend broke her ankle and missed out on spending a semester in England, and she was devastated. Anyway, just thinking. Pray for the people with "minor" injuries, too. |
Injuries are traumatic no matter how serious IMO... The body goes through a battle when it's injured...sending all sorts of chemicals and hormones to protect & heal itself.

It always seems strange to me when they announce "non life-threatening injuries". That doesn't necessarily mean they aren't severe.....or life altering. I always wonder what the person who received the injury would classify their case as.
