Now I can breathe a sigh of relief...GREAT NEWS!!

I wanted to rush here to tell you all the happy news! I just got off of the phone from speaking with one of the nurses in my husband's new hospital, and everything is working out perfectly! My DH spoke yesterday afternoon with the Public Advocate, and worked out the voluntary/involuntary thing once and for all. He decided that he would go in voluntarily, as the reason it was suggested otherwise was to get him into this new hospital. Since he is there now, well, no need!

Just to be sure, I tried calling the phone number that was on the 'commitment letter', and the woman there insisted that he was already considered involuntary, and the hearing was just a formality. Obviously, she wasn't informed of the latest, and I ended hanging up in frustration.

Then I called the new hospital, was transferred to the floor where he is staying, and the nurse there couldn't be nicer! She wanted to clarify what he did for a living, and I told her, "Yes, he has a master's degree in Clinical Psych, and after a few years, got into 'industrial psych' and worked for the NJ Civil Service Commission, testing for state jobs, etc." Kind of a funny moment, like, 'is that really true?' kind of thing.... Anyway, she told me that she had just gone over papers with my DH about signing himself in voluntarily, and the hearing with the judge is basically a formality.
W-H-E-W, DO I FEEL BETTER NOW! I will be going to see DH this evening.

On the subject of good news, I just found out from a contractor that we will be able to put an addition on our house, a master suite on the main floor for my husband and myself. In the way of explanation, we bought this big, beautiful house on three acres for us and my son and his family. WE bought the house, they pay most of the mortgage and taxes, and THEY have the huge master suite on the second floor! We are currently on the main floor in what is designated as an office, so our plan all along was to put an addition on the house, despite it's large size already. I have to work to get a picture of it up here that is a picture, not a link....This contractor is currently re-building our former house which was lost to the fire. He knocked it down, is re-building, and then will sell it, giving us another good chunk of change - which we will turn around and pay part of to him to put on our addition. We really hope to have the addition on before the winter.

I am so excited! What a happy, happy day this is turning out to be!!

Jacquie, whose mood is getting better and better...:)

:heartthrob: I JUST LOVE YOU GUYS!! :heartthrob:

I went to see DH tonight. It's quite a different place, he said, but they have a lot of good things going on daily. He has already spoken with the pdoc there, and he is very optomistic about his progress. He was 'joking', tho, saying that this new place is a cross between the old place and a prison (I had to leave my car keys and my phone at the front desk!) but he already likes it better there! :)

Yes, I certainly WILL sleep well tonight...

Nite, nite :grouphug:
