Sharing Chat Rooms with Psych Central
Hi folks,
Ever since NeuroTalk has been online, we've supported real-time chat and chat rooms. However, because of the smaller size of our community here, it's often been the case that nobody uses them because nobody ever seems to be online and want to chat at the same time. Real-time chat can be a big emotional and social support for some, however. So in order to provide such support, I'm pleased to let you know that we're now going to share Psych Central's main chat rooms with NeuroTalk. What this means is that if you click on the Chat Rooms link, you'll be taken to the main Psych Central chat system. Hopefully this will encourage NeuroTalk members to join chat more often, and make new friends. Granted, the members at Psych Central aren't dealing with the exact same things as members here are, but sometimes you may find support or benefit just by talking with others, regardless of their specific concerns. Also, by sharing the same chat system, this may encourage more NeuroTalk members to engage in chat and feel like they're not alone any more in the chat rooms. I hope members here enjoy this additional support. As always, if you have a concern while in chat, please bring it to the attention of one of the moderators or administrators here. Best, DocJohn |

I have been visiting the chatsite for a couple of months now. I am not sure it is the best place to be for people suffering pain. Most in there have some form of depression so you have to be very careful what you post. I invited one person who lives local to me to visit my home. A nice person, a drug addict in fact, now taking prescribed drugs. Two types of valium and a narcotic. I doubt very much if he will ever be free of them. He said he had a love of crossdressing but not able to do so because of circumstances. I would not know how to help this young man. I know I could help him with the dressing, but but the drug situation makes for unreliability, and I could not know what mood changes may occur
