I value your ideas

I rarely post because I rarely have anything worthwhile to say. I stop by daily to read your posts and feel llike I know you all and now I am asking for your ideas.

I have an older sister that is my role model and best friend. She has always been special to me and still is. She will celebrate her 60th birthday this year and I want to get her something special. I don't have a lot of money so cost is a concern. I want it to be something she will keep and think of me every time she sees it. I'm stumped.

An album or scrapbook of the two of you growing up? A framed enlargement of a photo?

I agree with B2Y's suggestion. A photo is a great gift - especially if it's one of the both of you together.

do you have a photo of the two of you together? its cheap to put photos on a mug or stuff at Walmart now, and each morning when she drinks her coffee she will see your pretty picture.

HB to sister.

My little sister had a goofy picture enlarged from when we were little in put it in a sister's frame. It has always been one of my favorite presents.

a collage of the pair of you growing up.

For both DS and DD's graduations from HS, parents were given a small poster size piece of paper to fill with pictures of the graduate.

I cut and overlapped filling the entire paper with images from baby to current. I made sure I put a picture of DH with child somewhere and child/me.

DS or DS with past pets, everything. Makes for a colorful eye candy effect when one collages.

Call around to find where it can be laminated, We have a copy place in a strip mall nearby.

If you like the idea, I will try to post one of the collages I made so you can use it as a model.:)

Good Ideas, except framing can be expensive. If you have a fav old frame, maybe even an antique, in your attic, that would be great!!

Another way to do it is to go to local JoAnne's or Michaels and buy an inexpensive poster frame. Do your collage and then just frame it. Same as lamination, maybe even nicer.

I love the idea of the collage. I think I have enough things saved from our youth to pull together a good one. I'll do it!
