Do your legs and arms get a good workout when you're sleeping

Hi guys,

I have what I think is a weird one for you.
My legs and arms get a fantastic workout while i'm sleeping, I didn't believe it when my husband told me this so he recorded me one morning

My legs and arms never stop twitching, moving all over the place, here there and everywhere. I've even managed to put some moisturiser on my legs one night while I was still asleep. I think this one was my subconscious trying to sooth my legs and feet.

My legs end up crossed, like one knee up and the other crossing it. One leg could be up in the air, arms are going all over the place and they all twitch it's unreal. The funniest part is i'm asleep and I haven't a clue.

Before the back problems I was never like this, I was a quiet sleeper and wouldn't move much. Sometimes I even cry or moan in my sleep.

Is there anyone on the board that does mad things like this....

Let me know because I should be waking hubby up all the time like this kicking him just because my legs are doing a jig.

Love to all

Sinéad xxxx

Wow Sophie

Good of you to bring this up!
I certainly have restless nights still, moaning and can't get comfortable...
But the subconsious twitching and spasms have been under control (to the best of my knowledge) since being put on Baclofen.
You said you've tried this med already and it didn't fare well for you tho.

Hi Kit

Hi Kit,

Are you a newbee? You are very welcome to our little chat room, we're a good caring bunch and I've had some of the best support here.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I've had restless legs for a few years (since my first discectomy in 1994) but it wasn't like it is now, this is well beyone restless legs, my arms are moving everywhere, they're up in the air, they are spread out, one arm could be up in the air the other hand on my face, i rub my hands together, I rub moisturiser on my legs! Then my legs they're worse, I stretch my legs out, they're up in the air, one at a time, they cross legs and they move any which way possible. I wonder if it's related to neuro problems with my back, my stim is on 24hrs.

You're right about not gettiing a proper nights sleep, i wake up tired and now I'm beginning to understand why. It's not something I feel worried about but should I mention it to my consultant do you think? It's getting much worse.

Do you mind me asking what meds you got for your problem, PM me if you don't feel comfortable putting it on here, if you prefer to answer at all.

Thanks again,

Sinéad xxx :) :)

Baclofen

Hi Rae,

Thanks for your reply, i've tried the Baclofen before, at least I think I have and it didn't make any difference. It's not something i've been too worried about, I find it more entertaining when my husband has recorded it and I see what I'm doing... but at the beginning of the morning i'm waking up tired and grumpy and i think that this is problem, if i'm not getting enough proper sleep then that effects everything and this bit has me a bit concerned. I think I will mention it to my consultant when I see him next week, I can even show him some of the recording - it's actually kind of funny.

Thanks again hun,

Sinéad xxxx :)

Recording

What a brilliant idea! By doing this, the proof is right there! No one can tell you this is all in your head!

I should record my husband to prove to him how much he SNORES!!

Seriously tho, I can certainly see why this is a concern to you.
Not getting the proper amount of sleep can set off a multitude of problems. I sure hope you can get to the bottom of this - and SOON

Hmmmm restless Body

My goodness y'all. It seems there is a problem with Joan's teddy :Thats-Funneh::ROTFLMAO:and the teddy er should be paid a visit, OR, we should dig up Ed Sullivan [groan, I know, no one remembers or ever heard of Ed Sullivan] to do a show featuring the teddy.

Kit- Howdy! : o):welcome_sign::Tip-Hat: You have now been initiated to the sparkling wondrous :Crazy 2: and :circlelove: group of the SCS folk. Good comment right off the bat as well!!

Sophie/Sinead- I am sorry my friend that you have such restlessness as you attempt sleep..... and there is video to prove it? Just don't U Tube it. Anyway, I use my device 24/7, BUT turn it down at night, kinda like turning down the volume on a sound system. During waking hours, when I am sitting sockless, I can watch my toes wriggle all on their own. I have no control over the ten appendages, it is a sign of the electrical flux down the pathways. Now as for your upper body shenanigans...... I have no clue. Maybe try turning down your signal strength at night just before lights out and maybe :Zzzz:

Rae- Breathe Right for thy hubby. Pharmacy near sleep aids. I use it and it works as is definitely attested by my wife. I mean what hubby would not want to give it a try so as to help the most important person in his life?

Prayin for all,

Hi guys

Thanks for the many replies, I liked the one about recording your husband snoring, I did that to show himself because he didn't believe it so I recorded him - it didnt make any difference!

As for turning down the stim at night to stop the shenanigans of working out at night, I was worse before I got the stim, the stim has helped but not enough.

Thanks for advice. I'm feeling crappy at the moment and I have to work full-time to - not a happy Neadi!!

Love to all
