VA Earthquake!

it shook my house in NH! I was feeling the floor sway, and my chair started rocking and I thought "MS doesnt normally do this, WTH is going on?" I looked around and saw my lights swinging on their chains, and the furniture was swaying. WILD!

Turned on the TV to see a few minutes later that VA was hit with a big hit.

Everyone ok?

I'm outside of DC and also thought I was having a MS attack! Thankfully a few cabinet doors opened and my cats went nuts to confirm that something external really did happen.

Freaked me out though because that is one reason I've never been a fan of California. I prefer the ground below me to remain steady. :eek:

I just called my sister in Alexandria and she's okay. Said they had to evacuate their building (she's on the 6th floor) and she was terrified. Said that was the longest 6 flights of stairs she'd even gone down. They have no cell phone service but the office phones are working.

I was taking a nap because my cable service had gone out. TV, phone and Internet were all three out. My oldest son called me about 3 PM asking if everyone up there was okay. So far my sister and her daughter are fine. She said it was really wild and, since she works for the U.S. Army her first thought was that they were under attack!

Reports say it was felt all the way down in GA. Maybe I felt it and just thought it was my MS gait making me wobbly. :o I hope everyone is okay here. I know Craig lives in VA. So do several others. Ya'll check in!

saw legs (who lives in VA) on facebook. She is waiting for the pharmacy to reopen so she can get her antibiotics for her scary pee, but she is great, no damage.

My SSon from Richmond, VA, near the epicenter is scared ****less, but no damage and OK. You can imagine how they felt just getting back from Iraq/Kuaitt/Afganistan..:eek:

My Niece lives in VA, just outside DC and the same scared there, but also OK.

Another Nephew is in Penn/NJ border and felt it pretty good there.

I didn't feel anything here.:rolleyes::D

DS33 and DIL are both fine...DS's building outside Alexandria was evacuated...they have a nuclear reactor onsite, so it was a precaution...DIL was amused that they evacuated buildings in DC for such a small earthquake...she's from California, so she knows what a real quake feels like...

People in Chicago felt it too!!

My sister in VA said her cats refused to go outside this morning after they ate. She said that is very unusual for them. I wonder if they sensed that something was going to happen? Animals can do that.

Jack laid in his bed (shaking) and looked at me like "why are you harrassing me?" He didnt realize one tiny bit that it was an earth quake. Lily on the other hand was acting spooked most of the day and stuck close to the basement. Wild huh?

Now that you mention the animal sensitivity thing. My dog was shaking today too. I didn't feel it but I wonder if he did?:eek:
