tired of the pain

Hi there, I am new here but not to the pain I am in. I hope to find some emotional help with this pain my neck and back are causing. Its very depressing because I have no one to really talk to without being told what I should have already done, I need some real encouragement. I am not in terrible shape, but I guess I am weak because the pain is hard for me to deal with. I finally had a MRI, 3 of them, the neck and throatic showed several multi layered bulges and mild stenosis. I will be able to talk to my provider on Thursday and will hear the lumbar results. As of now she said continue my meds which is all she ever has said. My meds are hydros 10 mg. 4 times a day. I have been taking them for so long. My right arm and right leg are really affected now. I hope someone can tell me if I should go to a back specialist, is there anything that can be done? Thank you for any info or encouragment you could provide me.

It takes a while to get answers and find a good path.

Keep asking and asking till you get on track...

Back pain is miserable pain. I truly understand...

Hello and Welcome!

and
WELCOME to NeuroTalk!

I'm sorry to hear of your pain but I sincerely understand!!

Here is are a couple of links to help you find your way around.

I can not recommend a doctor but if you feel you should see a specialist then I would agree that you go with your gut feeling. I usually feel that your gut feeling is usually right.

I sincerely wish you the best!!!

Please feel free to kick off your shoes and stay a while... feel free to roam around the forums and join in any where!! If you have any questions or need any help...please don't hesitate to ask!! Someone will always be around shortly to help in any way that we can.

I hope to see you around the board.
:)
Abbie

All that frustration & going in circles? Yeah. I've been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. And I hear you about not being told at this point what you should have done way back when.

In addition to the Forums recommended by Abbie, I'm going to suggest one more, the Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum24.html

You can re-post your intro, starting a thread on each of the forums suggested by Abbie as well as on TOS. There's a fair amount of traffic, so I'd check them daily.

Then, as (BrokenWings) said, ask questions, ask more, & keep asking till you know you're on the right path--till your gut tells you you're walking in the right direction. If you run into road blocks, we'll listen :ranting:. When you finally get that manta working, we know how to party :yahoo::Dancing-Chilli::yahoo:!

Can relate

Hi everyone! i am new to NeuroTalk & very Thankful to come across it. It has been seve4ral years that i have been suffering with pain. It all started when i was diagnosed with Lyme Disease- (which is now fibro)...ever since then, even after "treatment" I have felt worse and worse. I am currently out of work for 6 weeks and trying everything i possibly can to become myself again :( I look forward to meeting new people on this support group and helping in whatever ways I can.:)
