Ways of coping

with a disability and having children.

Thought we could share some wisdom of how we all cope with raising our children and having a disability

One of my hopes in asking for this forum was that we could connect with other parents sharing similar issues -- one way of coping. :-)

Jen, I see in your signature that you lost your son? I am so, so sorry. I hope you have good support around you.

I would have more to say, but I'm out of time for tonight. But I'll be back. :-)

I'm fortunate to have only very occasional days when my conditions get in the way of living fully, so the only coping I need to employ regularly is striking a balance between meeting my son's needs and keeping my stress in check so my epilepsy stays controlled. It used to be extremely difficult, but as he improved over time with his autism, I did as well, so one can affect the other.

LIZARD :)
