opinions please

I have a need for all of you here ae SOS to offer up your opinions
Early this last month I repeatedly texted and called the office of my last shrink. She replied once when I texted her that I had had a CT done of my head, she then told me she would call my doc the next day, she also asked that I text his personal cell number to her then and there. Since that time she did not reply to messages of any kind left at any number I had for her by myself or my doc. I was having multiple issues at this time and after several days went by my doc found me a "new shrink"
Yesterday during work she finally called me and left a long detailed voice mail about why she had not called, it was full of blame on her office staff, a family emergency etc. She called my therapist and blammed all of us for calling "her private cell phone". I reminded the therapist that messages had been left on her cell per her insructions to me, HOWEVER they were also left at her office.

So will I be totally wrong to fire her at this point??

akkk! please fire her!!! I have no words of advice of where to go for real help dear lady, but anywhere would be better than what she is offering..she is not paying attention!!!!

I agree... fire her and never go back. The new one can't possibly be worse. A good shrink is there when you need them, and the times that you need them are rarely the same time that you have an appointment with them. Perhaps she's only willing to help you if you're actively paying her at the time (during an appointment).

Absolutely fire her! Not only was she non-responsive when you needed her ; but you were also having to do her job!

Word of mouth is often the best way to find a care provider.

Very hard to find ANY pdoc here in nowhere, most dont stay round these parts or anywhere near here. Any that do stay around seem to develope VERY POOR reputations. My newist one has been where he is at for quiet a while but it is 200 miles one way to see him:eek:

oh yikes ((pooh_ac)) I totally didn't take into account that you live in a small town. I've had that experience so completely understand - it happens in small towns in Canada, too... no one really wants to live there :( or can't live there because of gov't cutbacks, yadda yadda...

My daughter had the same experience in a small town in Michigan. But she was lucky enough to be able to travel to a larger town just half hour away. Boy I can imagine how frustrated you must be.
