Any other females stop getting their period after their head injury?

I am 4 months post TBI and still havent gotten my period. My doctors checked an HCG to make sure i wasnt pregnant (which i knew i wasnt). They said it will just take time to heal before i start getting it again. Anyone have this problem?

No, but that's a side effect I could live with :D Do you still have any PMS-like symptoms? Backache, cramps?

I've had exactly the opposite happen to me...

Neurologist said she'd never heard of it happening before....

I never get PMS type symptoms except for maybe some bloating. I am definetly ok with not getting it, except it gives me anxiety because i always wait for a week for it to come when i take the sugar pills and it never does.

nightnurse,

It might be worth finding a good women's health/hormone specialist to check you out. All hormones are regulated in the brain. A dysfunction could be causing other symptoms. Check out https://www.womensinternational.com/..._referral.html for a good referral in your area. Your BC pills may be not right for you while you are still healing.

btw, I am a serious believer in women getting good hormone advice beyond the generic advice from most OB/GYN's. It changed my wife back into the woman I married 31 years ago. Bad hormones make for poor stress tolerance.

My best to you.

i don't know what's happened exactly, but since the whiplash, a lot of weird stuff has happened and the neurologist who told me i have a psychiatric problem is full of it...

I missed one month after my concussion. It finally came back.

cheergirl...i had the neuro tell me the same thing...actually his words were "you have a deep rooted anxiety problem that manifested itself now" HA! Then why does going on the computer and watching tv bother me?? Why can't I tolerate doing very much...reading without getting exhausted?

I agree...I have anxiety...who the hell wouldn't with a laundry list of symptoms that come on from daily living???

He didn't even ask me ONE question...Just dismissed my bad finger to nose test results as purely psychiatric. Interesting choice, as it all started the day after my accident...
He got annoyed when i mentioned MBTI and angrily asked where I heard about it and point blank refused to answer 4xs when I asked how it was diagnosed...
Not a nice person... I guess when you think you are second only to god himself with your education and opinions, you lose something else.
I thought he was a jerk and take no more notice of his opinion, than he did of mine...
Being a doctor or consultant and having no clue about a condition in whch is supposedly your field of expertise must be more terrifying for them than me... so glad I am not the only one this happened to...
