Byanna ? on gum recession

Hi there !
I have some recession on my lower left 1st molar, there is no tooth behind this one. Its been like this for years now and it doesnt bother me but I wondered what can be done IF it starts to bother me ?? Is there anyway maybe if I rub the gum daily it will grow back :)
It seems like its only recessed on the outside, the inside looks good. I pretty much use Sensodyne toothpaste anyway because I do have sensitive chicklets.
Its weird because this is the only tooth I really can see it that severe on, its almost like I can see where the root starts. I think it started or was noticable about 10 or maybe more years ago.

hi cvcman,

Depending on how large of an area the recession is, sometimes a white colored filling can be placed there to help prevent further recession. A filling will also prevent the tooth from being sensitive in that area as it covers up the tiny portion of root exposed. Have your dentist take a look at it at your next checkup!

I also see what looks like a crack or line from one of the cusps, again he doesnt seem concerned, should I be worried about it snapping off if I eat a pretzle ???

You're probably okay :)
But if you are concerned, then don't eat a pretzel on that tooth! =)
