Fibromyalgia too?

My all day trip to the ER yesterday because my Ortho is a moron.... It seems the 5, not 4 fractures in my spine are as healed as they are going to get. The degenerative dics that are impeding my spinal cord is what is causing my massive pains. YAY!

And then he tried to tell me he thinks I have Fibromyalgia too. I don't need any more dx's doc, but thanks anyway. Are all doctors morons or just the ones in virginia?

Some Docs don't think that MS causes pain and so they like to point to other possibillities for it..

MS itself, probably doesn't cause pain, but it leads to much nerve damage that does!!

Be well..

I have fibro, and the pain from that is much much different from the MS pain I experience...the fibro pain feels like someone is dragging their fingernails down my muscles, whereas the MS pain is like shin splints, and worse...

Well see that is my issue. I don't have Fibro. I have 3 different kinds of arthritis, I have a torn hip flexor, I have ripped tendons in my foot, 5 fractures that are healing around 4 internally herniated discs and I have MS which comes with 32 holes in my spinal cord and brain all of which are over 35mm in size. None of my aches and pains are muscle related, and none of my aches and pains come for no reason. There is a reason for each and every issue, none of which can be fixed. I understand this. I question how all of these things have hit all at once and I question why they have all hit at the age of 30.

But I do not believe any of it can be summed up my adding another diagnosis for another incurable issue.

What were you in the ER for? Was it for the pain that all these different things is causing? Have you told your Ortho doctor what is causing your pain and he thinks it's something else?

Sorry for all the questions but it just seems like your doctors keep going round and round trying to diagnose you with something specific when all your sx come from individual problems.....not one specific condition or disease.

I hope you can find some relief.

Oh the reason I had to go to the ER...my pcp is out of town still on a family emergency. Since my insurance was cut back in june, I had been getting him to write the script for the narcotic pain meds along with my other scripts so I only had to pay one doctor. His $85 office visit is a heck of a lot cheaper than the $255 the ortho wants so that he can write the same script.

BUT, because my doc is out of town and I was out of pain meds, I decided to bite the bullet and go see the ortho... which is scheduled for monday, this means I get to do that withdrawal thing until then, or go to the ER. Why? Because my ortho didn't feel comfortable writing a script for the meds that he has been prescribing for a year and a half without seeing me first. But they refused to bump my appointment up sooner and refused to write a script for the 5 days between the time I ran out and my apointment. Thanks to this moron I got to spend the day at the hospital explaining the pains and having pictures taken to prove the damage in my spine is not something I am making up just to get meds.

I hate these stupid docs. I cannot wait for my pcp to get home. He is great. I miss him!
