Problematic vp shunts
 

:)Hi everyone after having a very troublesome Medtronic Valve for 3.5 years finally removed after getting a 2nd opinion.I had an Integra OSV11 fitted which was life changing if not lifesaving as I could not cope anymore even considered suicide as my only way out.I found an independent N.S who suggested I have an OSV11 fitted was brilliant for 13 months then suddenly when downhill fast extreme vertigo very bad cognitive function,head felt like it was going to implode just some of symptoms.Went back to A&E dept who said they would put me under to check out everything only to wake up to find all of shunt valve & tubing had been removed & replaced it has now been over 2 months went for follow up last week to be told the 1st OSV11 had just stopped working.So it just shows me that with good N.S if things are acted on immediately it can save the patient so much grief & at the end of the day we are all happy,I am now prepared that at anytime that things do go wrong but is of no concern as with the right treatment it is quite easy to fix the problem,if only there were more N.S that would face up to there responsibilties instead of acting like they are God with a no care attitude to the patient.Good luck to all always get a 2nd independent opinion if you are not happy I hope this is of help to someone.:grouphug::):)
