Hi - I would like to introduce myself
I have just posted a long post in the Peripheral Neuropathy forum, but wanted to introduce myself here as well.
My name is Walt and I am have some significant and life changing struggles with what has recently been diagnosed as Small Fiber Polyneuropathy. This all came on very suddenly early this year. I am 53 years old and prior to this issue was very active and involved in my work and my church. Unfortunately, this disease has changed all of that. The cause of my disease is "idiopathic". I hate that word. I would like to understand what is causing my problems, though I know I may never. I have read many of the posts on this forum. There is a lot of very useful information. I have already acted upon some of the info regarding supplements to take that might help my nerves to recover. It is nice to be able to communicate with folks that understand and can relate to what I am going through and I hope to develop many friends within this community. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. Sincerely, Walt |
Hi Walt .. I just wanted to say a quick HELLO and welcome you to this wonderful site. I'm sure you will get lots of help, support and advice from people in a similar position to yourself.
It's horrible isn't it, when your way of life changes and you have to re adjust .. but we do, and sometimes its something to be thankful for. I for one, never used to notice the little things but because I am very slow at walking now, I do .. and for that I am thankful. It's very hard at times to find something to be thankful for .. but when you do, you have to hang onto it with both hands so the memory of it is there for you in your bad times. Again, welcome .. pull up a chair and I'll put the kettle on for a cup of tea. Saffy x |

Thank you so much for your kind reply to my post. I couldn't agree more with your comments regarding readjusting to things and being thankful for things once taken for granted. I so much hope your pain isn't bad today and that you are on a path for long term relief. I wish I could join you for some tea, but I have been advised not to consume caffeine :-). Best, Walt |
