Stress
Does any one know of a study that links stress with PN? I know that when I am stressed my PN pain seems to go up.

I think stress is a huge trigger for all pain states.
Many of us here have increased pain from stress. Autohypnosis, meditation, and other non drug interventions that reduce stress all show reductions in pain and discomfort. I've used autohypnosis for over 30 yrs! (I started it for other reasons, and it just helped me deal with my pain well). Just learning calming breathing techniques can help IMO. |
Take a look at this link, called Heart Math. They share their quick stress reduction techniques for free. You may have to register to see them but there's not obligation on your part.
It's basically a breathing technique focused on the heart to reduce stress and improve overall well being. It takes about 5 minutes 2x/day. http://www.heartmath.org/ |

Pain is a form of stress; they are closely related and have a cyclical/spiraling effect, each exacerbating the other. While I know of no specific studies offhand, if you put scholarly as the first word in a google search, you'll usually get a link for Scholarly articles for ______. Doc |
