Hi Everyone, this is my first post and not even sure if I am doing this correctly. lol

My reason for posting here is I live with chronic pain that does not allow me to lead a normal life. I have had many medical problems throughout my life including two different cancers. The reason I am here is the pain issue. I have had a total of 5 lumbar back surgeries with two fusions. Even before I had my first fusion I went to many doctors who told me there was nothing wrong with me although I could no longer do anything, but lay on my right side in one position for 10 months. When I was in a car going to the doctor's appointments I would have to lie down in the back seat. I would be screaming with pain. I finally met the most wonderful doctor who did see the reason for my pain. I don't know why he saw what others could not, but after having my first fusion my pain except for normal surgery pain was gone. I returned to my normal active life and was so happy. Two and 1/2 years later I started to have pain again. That same doctor was out because of his own medical reasons and I ended up going to other doctors. I ended up waiting for the doctor who performed my first fusion. I ended up having my second fusion in 2006. My first being 2002. The pain returned in 2004 and I did not get the same result as the original pain was back. I have lived this way since 2004. I have tried everything offered to me, but nothing has helped. I have no pain mgt. doctors near me and I can no longer drive. My pcp has become my pain doctor as he knows I cannot drive to the other end of the state where one is located. They only offered me pain meds. as it was so I could not see the difference. My problem is even with the pain meds nothing seems to work anymore. I am here to see what other people are doing and are in the same place I am. I am here for moral support as it gets depressing to not be able to do things any longer. Thank you all.

Thank you Alffe and MelodyL for the welcome. I will check out the link for the chronic pain forum. I also hope to find my way around as I spend more time here and get to do some cool things that many others have.

Just to know you are not alone helps a lot. :Thank you::
