Going to have MS ruled out or....
Hi, I am going on the 28th to see a neurologist. I have Sjogren's Syndrome, and now have developed what they think is Trigeminal Neuralgia. One of the things my doctor said the neurologist would look for is multiple sclerosis. May I ask when you all, at what age, you all were diagnosed? I am 49. Surely I would have known by now if I had this autoimmune disease? Yet, with some of the weird symptoms I have been having....TN being the most painful, but not the only one...I have to admit I am a bit nervous. What were some of your early symptoms, and how were you finally diagnosed? Thank you. It's been a rough few months here lately.

Hi Booklass, welcome..:)
Let's see, my first symptoms of MS, wayyyyy back in the 60s, was tingling, dizzyness and Le Hemittes(sp)(the tingling down the spine when bending head down toward chest. I didn't go to the Dr then. I thought I had just been drinking too much..:D I had a heavy duty MS attack and hardly able to walk, in the 70s, when I was diagnosed at age 34/35. Good luck and let us know how your tests go.. |
hi booklass,
i was dx'd at age 53. however, my dr said i had MS for some time. i began having a gait disturbance, my neuro exam was agnormal, my mri of brain and c-spine showed lesions and my LP had O-bands. that's a lot. please, try to take only one day at a time. stay in the here and now because worrying about the future doesn't accomplish anything except stressing you out. most of what drs do is rule things out. so you may not have any of what they look for but that's how they find out what IS going on. stay with us and keep us posted. |
