SSDI CDR review
 

I recently received the short form for a CDR and then got a letter back saying my benefits were going to continue. Two months later I get the long form from the state saying they want to do a complete medical review. I have been seeing my therapist all year and taking medication. However I have not seen a doctor within the past year. Will I loose my benefits.

part of a disabled persons responsibility while recieving ssdi is to continue seeing your doctor and takeing medication for your disabling condition so when social security reviews your case you will have all the evidence so that your benefits will continue.however,if social security sees that you have not been seeing a doctor on a regular basis they will consider this as a sign that your condition has improved and to stop your benefits.

I am not certain that you would be 100% correct. Since I have been going to the Veterans Hospital for ten years and have yet to have a review. I have a significant amount of records indicating my therapy as well as any diagnosis that may be needed by anyone and it may not necessarily be a doctor.

No one here can answer that question. SSA has to decide if you have significant medical improvement and can now function in a work environment. Your therand apist's records may or may not be sufficient. If not, SSA will send you to a CE, a strange doctor, who will do a one time, snapshot exam and will make a decision based on the combination of what you say, what your therapist says, and what the CE doctor's report says.

Sometimes the review is to see if you are getting better. I would make an appointment with all your doctors, and get an update to support the claim. I do go to my doctors on a regular basis, and keep tham informed of all that happens to me. I am a pain patient, so I kind of have to go to the pain specialist. I also make sure each doctor has a copy of the other doctors notes of the visit. This requires giving consent and all, but it is worth the trouble, to keep them all informed. I developed a new condition, and added that record to my own, so that I have copies of all information in my case. Do that record exchange in person, as if you call for a request, they don't always do it even if you sign the concent form. I wish you all the best. state vs social security
 

iam just a bit curious here.how can the state over-ride what social security says...are these benefits comeing from the state or social security??

Social Security, for some reason that I have never understood, contracts with state agencies to make disability decisions. The employees are state employees with state paychecks and state benefits, but the money to pay these employees comes from the federal government. The regulations are federal regulations.

Same can be said about the welfare & food stamp programs. :confused:

SSDI CDR Review
 

Hi: You may find this a bit strange but it is true I promise you and I did not even realize it until I kept looking at possibilities of getting approved with my SSDI CDR. After I got my paper work (long form) and sent it back to DDS for a full medical review determination, I was involved in a compensation and benefit review for military disability pay. Well during the process with the doctor who happens to be a PHD. He did not find me totally disabled for PTSD, but he did find me as having Bi-Polar 1 Disorder with recent manic episode. I am wondering if this information could be used in the determination of my SSDI CDR. And what is even more strange is that this doctor is the same one who evaluated me 10 years ago for Social Security Disability. (Strange but true)... However his evaluation is not as detailed as it was 10 years ago, but either way it is a diagnosis of Bi-Polar 11 then and now Bi-Polar 1........Not sure if this make sense to you but I am feeling it gives me a ray of hope....
