Brain challenge with foot and hand motions
Try this and see if you can do it.
While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor. Move it in clockwise circles. Now, while doing the clockwise circles with your right foot, with your right hand, draw the number 6 in the air. Your right foot will reverse direction. Maybe someone with a damaged brain can break this pattern. I could not. |
I tried this. The effort overloaded my damaged brain and I fell forward, hit my head on my desk and am now dictating this post to my wife from the bed of an intensive care unit by blinking my right eyelid in morse code as this seems to be the only muscle in my body that I still have voluntary control over.
Only joking. No, I couldn't do it either :D |
I thought for sure I could do this. It didn't go so well... My foot reversed direction every time. Too funny.
Hmm... I can do it if I only concentrate on my foot and the writing of the 6 is super slow and maybe not very good. |
Wow. Thought I could do it also. Sure started the vertigo going.

have you asked anyone NON pcs to try this?

ROFL - I tried it and could NOT do it. OMG - I have Brain Injury by Association, don't I? Hubby rubbed off on me! aaaahhhh
As soon as I stick my hand up to write the 6 my foot starts going wacky - then again, I am about a 2 on the coordination scale of 1-100 lol:) |
I can't do it but I can do some other coordination tricks easily. I can rub my tummy while patting my head. I can also make my right hand make circles opposite of my left hand.
Try it. Make circles on a vertical plane that projects straight out from your chest. Think of an old hand crank movie camera like the movie sign in charades. The right hand starts out at the top. The left hand starts in at the top. The reverse both hands so the left hand starts out at the top and the right hand starts in at the top. But then, I can also ride a unicycle. Although lately, my coordination on the unicycle has not been so good. |
saw this one years ago. you can do it if you can picture your hand and foot making opposite circles.
kinda same thing with the patting head/rubbing stomach in circle--make it a pattern--as do the circle, picture it like a clock, pat head on 12 - 6 - 12 - 6 or whatever rhythm works for you. there's a trick for all these kinds of things--just gotta find it and practice it. |
Ha! I ride a unicycle too. The tires are flat on mine now so i haven't ridden them in a while but you never forget.
