calf, hand and arm going cold. IS THIS SPREAD?
I got sick from all the 3 new meds (I assume), slept for 2 days, nausea, vomiting, etc. I d/c all the meds and am starting over 1 at a time. this am, I have gone to the bathroom 5 times.
I noticed that my right foot, ankle and leg up to my knee is cold, I have a feeling of running ice water in my left hand on the pinky side and my left forearm. This is how my rsd started in my foot, except I had pain and sensitivity. I have none of these in the hand and calf. Just cold running water feeling. (ice water) Should I worry? Thanks Anita |
Anita,
I noticed you're up there in De so the chilly weather change may be affecting your RSD like it's doing to mine. By coincidence I started a new med at the same time I was getting a bad head cold so it made me wonder if I was having a reaction or not. That could be true in your case too. Something to think about anyway. As far as the possibility of your RSD spreading unfortunately that it could be. My neurologist told me that since I've had RSD over two years it's not a matter of will it spread but how much and how fast. In her dealings with RSD she found most cases lasting more than two years usually spread to some extent. The good news tho is if it does spread, it may not be a severe as the original area... |
Jimbo,
If it is spread, I am glad to hear it may not be as bad. yeah the weather will be down in the low 60's tommorrow and I got 4 hrs. of sleep last night in the recliner. Yeah my nose is stopped up as well. I think my immune system is low, back to the vitamins. (haha). but I will add 1 med back at a time. Still having hot flashes from withdrawls as well. Thanks Anita  Quote:

Also, I have found that whackadoodle temperature issues don't always signal additional RSD symptoms. If you're system is stressed from recovering from an introduction of too many meds, try and focus on calming your system down. Keep getting as much sleep as possible for the next few days! Relax, meditate, eat well (avoid all carbs for a few days) and baby your tummy, drink herbal tea, etc. Just becoming that violently ill can throw your sympathetic system further out of whack (at least that's been my experience.) Check with your doc, and see if you can stop all the new meds for now. After giving your body a chance to recover, you can then reintroduce one at a time, preferably with at least 2 weeks trial for each, before adding another into the mix. If you post what the new meds were, you might get some feedback about how others have responded to them... |
Anita,
In your reply you reminded me of one thing you should now about RSD. It does weaken our immune systems too. It makes cold weather changes crap to deal with. Finding a way to stay warm yet comfortable is a never ending battle. At least it's good to know that an understanding person is only a click away... |
ballerina,
I actually go to baltimore. I didn't even look here in delaware because of the wc issues. no doc. wants to say anything against another. (dont figure) anita Quote:

Lit Love,
Bath's feel awesome until I get out. Also we have a hot tub, which the dog ate the cover (so it is off until we get another). I have stopped all meds except the neurontin and the abilify. the doc says wait 1 week between each to see what is the culprit and see if my system will handle better. My big concen with the temp is when my foot had the ice water feeling, I knew it was more then surgical pain. I had an issue. Luckily this does not hurt and is not sensitive. (all but my left ankle, it now hurts) I posted my meds don't know where it went. (lol) I was so out of it. Thanks Anita , but it's worth a try! Jimbo,
Yeah I learned that. Thats how I ended up with a rollabout, bed cradle and bath chair. I ate winter, limited shoes, pants, etc. Quote:

Anita,
I assume when you say a rollabout what you're referring to is a motorized scooter. I'm waiting for one to approved by WC. So not looking forward to winter... |
