going to the movie theater
ok...very loud -- is that going to be a possibility? I'm dying to go see 50/50 -- it looks good.
what are your thoughts or experiences? I'm handling over an hour --prob close to 2 hours of tv now. |
I've been a handful of times. The noise wasn't the worst part for me. Fast movement on the screen was! If it got too bad boyfriend would have been willing to walk out the door with me.

id say go for it! isnt much to lose

You won't know unless you give it a go
I've been about ten times since my accident in 09 and only the first time right after my accident, did it bother me.
I go on a weekday late afternoon-early evening because there is literally hardly anyone there, a few times it was just my hubby and me. I don't feel so closed-in when there's not a crowd and I can sit where I want or move if I need to. I usually lay down for an hour or two afterwards to "re-balance and re-center my senses ~ Give it a try~There's just some movies that have to be seen on the big screen ~ Plus at my local cinemas, there's free  popcorn  and :pepsi: refills on the weekdays (I finally got use those smilies :cool2: ) |
get some of those little foam earplugs to dampen the sound level.
and think about where to sit to make things easier on you-- way in the back to minimize screen motion effects (tho just closing your eyes works when the picture moves too much), or my favorite is closer to the front where you walk in to our theatres because going up the stairs to the much higher back will set off my vertigo like crazy (and they have no rails, just the wall, yikes!), closer to the front accentuates the screen movement necessitating more eye-closing, but higher up means I could fall, and that scares me much worse. 50/50 is probably a good one to start with--less swoopy photography than an action/flying/shooting/racing adventure type movie. |
thanks guys -- i'm sick of babying myself and not doing things. Might go sunday with my daughter

movie theatre
I have been a few times. I can't do action movies or anything too fast and loud. But, slower movies like 50/50 are usually OK. Need the earplugs for sure though!
