Finally took my "leap of faith" to join
Hi all,
I have often read the information on this site regarding RSD, which I was diagnosed with two years ago after an auto accident. I guess the hardest part of my RSD symptoms, is the ongoing pain levels of 7 or 8 to my upper right torso, shoulder, and entire right arm, hand, and fingers. I also have "mirroring" of these symptoms in my left hand. It is comforting to know that I now have a place where people who also have RSD understand what I go through on a daily basis. My colleagues try to be compassionate, but they often show impatience, and sometimes frustration, with my pain symptoms, significant fatigue, and short term memory loss. This year as a school personnel (district-wide behavioral trainer: PBIS) it has been particularly difficult. Do many RSD patients deal with the great fatigue? How do they compensate for it? My fatigue seems to be increasing, so I'm concerned about my ability to make it all the way through the school year. I missed 8 out of 9 months of the 2009-2010 school year due to my injuries fromthe auto accident. Thank you all for letting us "newbees" know what you, as an RSD patient, are dealing with too. I appreciate this unique form of commaradarie!! |

Hello Irish4Luck!
Welcome to NT! It's great to have you!
I'm so very sorry about your accident that has changed your life to this degree. We all understand what you're going thru, tho, so take comfort in that. Like you said, family & friends try to comprehend this, but they can't quite grasp it. It's terribly frustrating :( The RSD forum (as you are aware) is full of terrific people. Make yourself at home and know that you've got friends! Caring, Rae :grouphug: |

Thank you for letting me know that there will be many people who understand how I feel, think, and react to my RSDS symptoms. Also, thanks for letting me know that I really will have friends that understand my situation. The fatigue this week is awful. I'm realizing that the fatigue that used to "hit" at the end of the week, is now showing up in the middle of the week. My doctor said that I'll have to see how much longer I'll be able to keep this up and not adjust my work schedule. Working for a larger school district in Wisconsin as a school psychologist/behavioral trainer, keeps me busy which helps me get through the really crappy days. Thanks for listening and caring. Thank you so much. Your description of the great number of caring fellow members is more heart-warming, and reassuring, than I can tell you. I know I need a place like this so bad to keep moving forward. Those of you with RSDS truly understand what I'm going through. From Irish4luck |
Feeling alone, but not lonely!
My 22 year old son moved out last weekend with his fiance. I'm getting used to being by myself and having the peace and quiet. There are times, though, that it would be very comforting to have someone to talk to about what I'm going through. I'm am so very greatful that this site is here because I know that it will become my second home!
