I've summoned the courage!

I've decided to go to my high school reunion in a few weeks because I am no longer ashamed of who I am and what I've experienced. I have gained immeasurable strength from my past and am so proud of who I've become! :D

Good for you Katiebell!

Katiebell ~ please, when you've been to the reunion I'd like to hear how it went and how you did.
A great big one for me - 50 years! - is coming in 2012 and I don't think I have the courage to go

I promise I'll update everyone on how it goes!! It's not for another three weeks and I can't wait!

Hope it goes well. Just remember that not everyone will have grown as you have. I went to one so long ago. I don't think any of us had grown up enough to really get it. I found it weird. Felt like hiding in the hallway most of the time I was so scared and geez I had a life. It's just that everyone looked and acted so strangely. Where were those beautiful people that I admired so much when I was 17? I was always a bit of a nerd. Not in the "social set" of the 17 year-olds back in my year.

Hope I haven't scared you out of it. It was worth going to, just was a bit like revisiting a house where one grew up... it's always so much more magnificent in our memories than if we go back 10 or 20 years later to revisit. ;) Especially if you had a boy that you thought devine. Weird seeing them all grown-up and balding with a wife and three children. LOL

A 50th? Wow, that's amazing and by then maybe we've really got it. Hope you find the courage to go there, wren. Maybe I might then too!

Have a wonderful time Katiebell. I missed my school reunion. I can't remember what the occasion was.... 20 years I think. I don't know if I'd go now if they had another one. I'd really have to think about it.

Wow Wren.... 50 years? I guess you're wondering where all that time has gone to. I know I do every time I work out how long my BFF and I have known each other. Soon that will be 50 years as well. :)

When we went to our 50th reunion, several years ago....I didn't know a soul..it was full of old people. :D

Not too worried

Most of the people I'm going to see are my Facebook friends, so I have a pretty good idea of what I'll be walking into. It's so true that perspectives change between 17 and 35! For me, that's a good thing. I was not in the popular group and they used to spread rumors about me. Since high school, I have been in touch with many that were in the popular group, and they have changed for the better. I'm looking forward to this reunion because I LOVE who I am! :D

Yay!!!

My reunion is next week and I can't wait!! I found a dress to wear to the gala - it's from a wedding I was in 12 years ago and it's actually cute!!
