Is this MS?

If I do even a little bit of 'work', and I use that word loosely.....I mean put away a few items or wipe off a shelf, I will end up with extreme neck, shoulder arm pain as well as leg pain, and then it turns into a migraine.I end up spending days in bed. Can this be from the MS?

SallyC 10-08-2011 10:41 PM

It can, yes. It sounds like the MS fatigue.

yep, it can come from MS.

HAve you seen the spoon story??

I love that story, it explains so much.

thanks for your replys.....I have read the spoon theory; but lately I wake up with NO spoons, and spend the day on the couch. I feel depressed. If I didn't have kids that had to be somewhere, I am not sure if I would ever get out of my PJ's.

Yes you do and so do we!!:hug::hug:

(((Hugs!)))) I feel your pain! I do know what you're talking about, that horrible nerve pain, and it also causes muscle spasms, and I NEVER had a migraine before MS. Have you tried massage? It seems to help me a lot if I have it once a month or so. We have a franchise where you can buy a membership and then it's not very expensive to get a massage, and it has been a Godsend for me.

As far as the work - PPBBBBBTTHHTT! That work will still be there when you're feeling better. A little dust, dirty dishes or laundry never killed anyone! I know it's hard, but sometimes you have to put yourself first.

daisy.girl 10-15-2011 05:02 PM

thanks so much to all of you...

I would love a massage, but doesn't look like it will happen in the near future. I feel really depressed. I don't want to get dressed, or cook, or clean, or go anywhere, or talk on the phone.....I just want to sit in my PJ's and either stare at the TV or the computer!

I hate feeling this way!!

Daisy, have you discussed the possibility of needing an anti depressent with your Doc? Depression and anxiety can be and are, in a lot of cases, directly caused by MS. (according to my Neuro/Psych).

I have been helped and I believe you can also be helped by the right SSRI antidepressent med.

Call your Doc and see what he/she says..
