Considering SCS

Hi everyone I have had 2 cervical spinal fusions and have been in pain since the 2nd surgery in 2001. I am considering having a Boston Scientific SCS. I have not been able to find much information on SCS for cervical neck pain. The one video on you tube showed the surgeon putting the leads in at the cervical area, it did not show the implantation of the generator so I do not know if he fed the leads down the spine or where the generator was placed. Anyone who has had this procedure done for cervical chronic neck pain I would appreciate any information you could share with me. Thanks and God Bless. mstrplmber

Hello Mstrplmber

Welcome to NT!
Boy have you hit the mutherload! :D

Alffe gave you the link to get to the SCS/Pain Pump forum. (It's found in the main menu as a sub-forum in the "Medications & Treatments" section.
I too remember searching desperately for information and patient discussion on these units. Trying to find stuff online was pretty sketchy.

I've had my unit for almost 2 years. The leads are in my lumbar spine and it covers the RSD/Neuropathy in both legs. I love it. The battery is in the right rear/hip area.
There are several people who have cervical units and some even have BOTH! (a lumbar SCS AND a cervical)

Come on over and check it out! At the top of the page is a section called the 'Sticky's'. There is some good info up there. Under that section is where all the active discussions are. Start a new thread and you'll find many caring people to interact with.

It's great to have you!
