Syringomyelia

My family member had surgery 6 months ago after finding syrinx in his spinal cord. First noticed something wrong almost a year ago when the left side of his body went numb. Neurologist found the syrinx and a shunt was put in at T12.
That's the level of his spinal cord injury from an auto accident 20 years ago. That accident left him a paraplegic. 3 months post surgery, the syrinx was decompressed but he still has numbness.
Now 3 months later, MRI shows syrinx all the way back up to the base of his brain. It's not as big as pre surgery but I'm extremely surprised that's it's back so soon. Thought the shunt would keep it decompressed. I would like the name of a neurologist near us to go for a second opinion. We live in north louisiana 10 minutes from the Texas line. Help.
