Venous TOS?

I have noticed more veins in my right shoulder and chest area recently. Not sure if I should be alarmed or I'm just psyching myself out. I don't get the swelling or blue coloring but it's definitely more noticeable compared to the other side.

Can anyone with VTOS give me insight - they don't appear swollen or distended just more visible. Should I be alarmed and make another trip to a vascular specialist?

I am not a doctor, but if you have no swelling, color changes or pain, I doubt that you need to make another appointment.

What you could be seeing is your body's adaptation to a circulatory problem: the creation of more blood vessels around a problem area. I think there's a scientific term for that, but I don't recall it. The first time I learned that the body could do this was with respect to a relative's internal vessel blockage. The body can create its own "bypass".

That sounds about right to me too, if no added or new sx or pain it must be the body adjusting, or maybe the skin getting more transparent??.

Just keep track of it and if any new sx show up, swelling, color changes, etc.. then see a dr.

It's called collateral circulation/collateral vessels. I think any changes indicative of venous disease should be examined. I don't mean to be alarmist or scary, but not all people with venous problems (whether occlusion or clots) presents with discoloration and swelling.

I may just go and get another opinion to get more peace of mind from another vascular specialist. My deductible resets at the end of the year, and it's pretty high. So I may as well do it in this calendar year while I can.

Nothing wrong with getting another opinion and working the financial angle.

Oh, yes the Ins does figure into the mix...sounds like a plan.
